Week 3 Predictions

Here are the predictions for the week 3 matches.

Olympique Lyonnais over AJ Auxerre – Lyon is like a French wine this season, they will just get better with age. They should win this away game and continue to play better week after week.

Le Mans UC 72 draw Nancy Lorraine– If Le Mans didn’t have it bad enough by starting their season with Paris St-Germain and Lyon, they have to take on the current leaders at home. After pulling off a draw against Lyon last week, it shouldn’t be a surprise if they do that this week as well. A five to six goal game wouldn’t be out of the question in this matchup.

AS Monaco over FC Lorient– AS Monaco hasn’t had the strongest start to the season, but that will hopefully change this season. FC Lorient is starting off better than expected, but they should start falling back to earth with a defeat of “The Principality.”

Montpellier HSC draw FC Sochaux– These are two ‘wait and see’ teams. Two games into the season and it is hard to tell how they will exactly pan out. So far both have looked like the mid-table teams that everyone expected. Going with Montpellier due to home field advantage.

AS Saint Etienne over US Boulogne CO– Hopefully for Les Verts fans, they will be able to knock in a few goals with their new striker Sanogo. The all-time Ligue 1 Champions should be able to climb out of the cellar with an impressive win at home against Boulogne.

Paris Saint-Germain over Valencienne FC– Paris St-Germain has started strong. Will they continue strong? Afterall, this is PSG and, like  a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get. Still, PSG should prevail against a weaker Valencienne side.

Stade Rennais FC draw Olympique Marseille– Going with a draw but could be a Marseille win. It could easily be a Rennes win as well. Hard game to predict. But going with Rennes to draw the mighty OM.

FC Girondins de Bordeaux over OGC Nice – Bordeaux continue to impress, and should continue their win streak at home against Nice. Nice, though, has been quite impressive to start the season.

Grenoble Foot 38 draw RC Lens – Two teams that aren’t looking that impressive so far. Therefore, go with the draw, why not?

Lille over Toulouse FC– This could be the hardest game to predict. Lille hasn’t started that great, but they do have great potential. Toulouse is getting better week after week. Lille needs to get a win, but if Gignac is on form, Toulouse could easily take the match as well.
