Predictions and starting line-ups for today’s Ligue 1 matches.

Here are the possible starting line-ups, according to Ligue1.com:

21:00 – AJ Auxerre / FC Lorient

Auxerre: Sorin; Hengbart, Coulibaly, Mignot, Berthod; Oliech, Pedretti, Ndinga, Birsa; Le Tallec, Jelen

Lorient: Cappone; Baca, Bourillon, Ecuele-Manga, Morel; Jouffre, Romao, Mvuemba, S. Diarra; Fanchone, Amalfitano

Prediction: Auxerre 2-0. Strong defense and a Gameiro-less Lorient will lead to an Auxerre win. Will new signing Anthony Le Tallec be able to show some offensive skill on his new team?

21:00 – RC Lens / AS Nancy Lorraine

Lens: Kasraoui; Aurier, Yahia, Sartre, Ramos; Hermach; Demont, Akalé; Roudet; Maoulida, Eduardo

Nancy: Grégorini; Chrétien, Sami, S. André Luiz, Lemaitre; Berenguer, Gavanon; Traoré, Féret, Brison (or Malonga); Alo’o Efoulou

Prediction: Draw 1-1. Not exactly a barn-burner, but on the Ligue 1 schedule nonetheless.

21:00 – Olympique Lyonnais / AS Monaco FC

Lyon: Lloris; Gassama, Cris, Toulalan, Cissokho; Pjanic, Gonalons, Ederson; Briand, Gomis, Bastos

Monaco: Ruffier; Adriano (or Puygrenier), Mongongu, Hansson, D. Traoré; Nkoulou, Mangani; Aubameyang, Niculae, Lolo; Park

Prediction: Draw 1-1. Will missing Lisandro hurt Lyon against a different look Monaco? Yes.

21:00 – Olympique de Marseille / SM Caen

Marseille: Mandanda; Azpilicueta, Mbia, Ndiaye (or Hilton), Taiwo; Lucho, E. Cissé, Kaboré; Valbuena, Niang, A. Ayew (or Ben Arfa)

Caen: Thébaux; Barzola, Sorbon, Heurtaux, Tafforeau; Marcq; Seube, El-Arabi, Nivet, Mollo; Traoré

Prediction: Marseille 2-1. Marseille should get the win at home, but Ligue 2’s best SM Caen could surprise a few people today. Mollo, Nivet and El-Arabi could be “players on the radar” for this season.

21:00 – OGC Nice / Valenciennes FC

Nice: Ospina; Diakité, Pejcinovic, Civelli, Gace; Sablé, Hellebuyck; Rémy, Faé, Mounier; Mouloungui

Valenciennes: Penneteau; Mater, Bisevac, Baldé, Bong; Kadir, R. Gomis, Cohade; Ben Khalfallah, Pujol, Danic

Prediction: Nice 2-1. Nice needs to come out of the gate with a strong performance. Will Remy score today? Will he be there next week?

21:00 – Paris Saint-Germain / AS Saint-Etienne

Paris Saint-Germain: Coupet; Ceara, Z.Camara, M.Sakho, Makonda (or Clément); Sessegnon, Makelele, Bodmer, Nenê; Hoarau, Erding

Saint-Etienne: Janot; Ebondo, Benalouane, Marchal, Bocanegra; Sako, Perrin, Gelson, Payet; Rivière, Bergessio

Prediction: PSG 3-1. New look PSG should take the three points at Parc des Princes today. Great striking force up front, decent defense, and a deeper midfield. Watch PSG this season.

21:00 – Stade Rennais FC / LOSC Lille Métropole

Rennes: Douchez; Danzé, Fanni, Mangane, Théophile-Catherine; Dalmat, Lemoine, Leroy; Brahimi, Bangoura, Marveaux

Lille: Landreau; Debuchy, Rami, Béria, Emerson; Balmont, Mavuba, Obraniak (or Dumont); Sow, Hazard; De Melo

Prediction – Draw 0-0. Who will win out…the defense or offense? I’m going with the defense in a scoreless draw.

21:00 – FC Sochaux-Montbéliard / AC Arles Avignon

Sochaux: Dreyer; Sauget, J. Faty, Bréchet, Mikari; Anin, M. Martin, Maurice-Belay, Boudebouz; Ideye, Maïga

Arles-Avignon: Merville; Laurenti, Meija, Erbate, Germany; Ayasse, Aït Ben Idir; Ghilas, Kermorgant, Ndiaye; Dja DjéDjé

Prediction – Arles-Avignon 1-0. The possible two worse teams in Ligue 1 this season. Arles-Avignon signed more players in the off-season, while Sochaux continue to look absolutely horrible.

21:00 – Toulouse FC / Stade Brestois 29

Toulouse: Valverde; Gunino, Congré, Fofana, Tabanou; Devaux; Braaten, Didot, Sissoko, Machado; Gignac

Brest: Elana; Daf, Brou Apanga, Kantari, Darlas; Ewolo, Ngoyi; Poyet, Licka, Lesoimier; Roux

Prediction: Toulouse 3-0. Toulouse should look to light up the scoreboard against one of Ligue 1’s weaker sides. Is Gignac back? Will Tabanou be one of the best players defensive surprises in Ligue 1 this season? We shall see.

  1. ASSE worries me a little bit….but we tend to dominate them at the Parc. Hoping for a good start, but it did little for us last year.

  2. At least you had the French Cup.

  3. by the way…excellent call on the PSG score.

  4. Thanks 🙂
