Who are currently the best teams in Ligue 1?

1- Lille

With Gervinho, Eden Hazard and Moussa Sow up front, Lille’s spectacular game is granted thanks to those three “defense breakers”. Pace, powerful and skillfulness, the mix is thundering! Backed up by Rio Mavuba, Yohan Cabaye and Ludovic Obraniak, the LOSC could possibly be the  champions at the end of the season. The downside may be the number of games scheduled in Europa League (Lille is going to take on Eindhoven) and the covetousness from the transfers market. Adil Rami has still agreed to sign with Valencia next season.

2- Paris

How can single player can turn a team into a title contender? Nenê himself boosted a team which has been poor for the last decade. Antoine Kombouaré has clearly found the right 11 and if any injury disrupts the PSG ongoing improvement, anything is possible for the capital city’s club, including a success in the Europa League (against Belarussians from Bate Borisov).

3- Lorient

Do you know Christian Gourcuff’s style? Playing good everywhere on the pitch. Short passes, small players and a lot of moves. A kind of French Barcelona on the whole. But possibly Kevin Gameiro’s departure could bring a big gap into the team. That is the life of non-top clubs and Christian Gourcuff has always replaced the leaving players by unknows ones but at least as good as them! So nothing to worry about…

4- Marseille

After a disappointing first part, l’OM need to achieve what they have done last year, climb up to the front of the table. But the main thing is that they kept their hopes alive. Nothing is lost so far. But Didier Deschamps’ men are aware that the Champions League (against Manchester United) could lose them a lot of energy and some points by this way…

5- Lyon

Despite its world-class recruitment Lyon is not featured at the top of the League. A good start would have helped but the provisional bottom 3 were late to really start to play and to win. Yohann Gourcuff is still struggling to recover his real level and Lisandro is the only one holding the club together…
